About Dr. Atkinson
Academic Background
Dr. Bryan Atkinson was born in Brighton, England and moved to Dallas, Texas when he was 12. He obtained a BA in Philosophy cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin.
He received his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 1992. Dr. Atkinson then returned to Dallas to complete his internship in Internal Medicine, residency in Neurology, and fellowship in Neurophysiology (NCS/EMG testing) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Atkinson is a Neurologist, board certified in Adult Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), and has specialty interest and expertise in the performance and interpretation of nerve conduction and electromyography (EMG) studies.
Personal
Dr. Atkinson is married and has 5 children. He lives in Travis Heights and, as an avid runner, may frequently be seen on the hike and bike trails around Lady Bird Lake. He has completed several marathons and enjoys participating in local races, often with his wife, Greta, who is also an accomplished marathoner. Additional hobbies and interests include: literature, astronomy, history (particularly classical civilization), flying (he is a private pilot) and travel with his family.
